Editor’s Note: Yep, it’s Tuesday.
There’s a lot to like about 2012. We don’t have to have another presidential election for four years. There’s going to be three more (Disney) Star Wars movies in the not-too-distant future. The FBI answered the questions no one was asking about General Petraeus’s extra-curricular activities. And, we were introducted to Honey Boo Boo.
Jeez. Maybe there hasn’t been a lot to like about 2012.
So let’s take a trip back to 1990, shall we? Germany was reunified. 2 Live Crew were exonerated. Milli Vanilli admitted to lip-synching. And, most importantly, a five-year-old Jacob was delighted by a wonderful VHS tape called “Superstars”, which paired his favorite established and up-and-coming NBA stars with awesome 80s music.
Most of the individual videos are on YouTube, which delights me. Charles Barkley’s “I Am The Warrior” is my personal favorite, but the Magic Johnson video, with Herbie Hancock’s “Rock It” is a certifiable classic. What an era in the NBA, right? Magic, Bird, Dr. J, Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan, Akeem Olajuwon. Christ, I miss the 90s.
Monday media, on a Tuesday.
