God from the machine…
Why machine?
Because the angels came
down on machines, see:
the Europeans of the
Middle Ages saw aliens,
Dei Ex Machina,
and thought they were
messengers of Jesus, God,
Bob, Mary, or Somebody…
what did they know?
But, importantly, the fact that
there was a phrase: “Deus Ex
Machina” means that the
experience of whatever that
phrase means was a common
experience, a frequent experience
in that culture, (in order to have
become a common phrase)…
so, what is that experience?
What is it except linguistic
confirmation that the earth was
visited by beings
become a common phrase)…
so, what is that experience?
What is it except linguistic
confirmation that the earth was
visited by beings
from not the earth in machines
during the Middle Ages?
I played the Deus Ex Machina
in “As You Like It” in college…
wheeled out on a little cart…
it was cute.
