After listening to one version
of this song played live over
six hundred times I came to
the conclusion that “cream
puff war” was the revolution
as they experienced it then…
FAIL.. They were right, so
beautifully performed during
that brief few years when the
community consciousness
grokked that truth was beauty…
and you could speak in poetry,
in art, in theatre, in music and
it was still out of control….but
we lost the war because we
didn’t believe in bullets…but
it’s not even a cosmic war
because war means two
trying to become one when
there was never even two….
and we understood that for
a while as portrayed in “Easy
Rider”…but we forgot, or, as
Peter Fonda says: “We blew it.”
